St. Leo Fair 2016 - Stamford CT

Check out some of our favorite shots we captured at the last night of St. Leo Fair in Stamford, CT on Saturday, September 3rd, 2016:

My husband and I arrived at the fair around 9pm and stayed until closing time at 11. Our goal was to capture some cool shots using long exposure photography of the ferris wheel and other bright lights. These shots were taken on my Nikon D800e with the Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8 and 14-24mm f/2.8 Lens.

We played around with the settings a bit until we achieved the look we were going for. Many of the long exposure shots were captured at 24mm / f/22 / 5 - 10 seconds / ISO 100 on our Manfrotto tripod. Afterwards, I shot handheld with the 24-70 by bumping up the ISO to ~1200-5000 to get some candids of people enjoying the fair as well as the booths and games. One of the volunteers suggested taking a photo from the top of the ferris wheel, so we quickly bought a few tickets 15 minutes before closing to capture the overhead shot in the gallery above.

We're so glad we made it to the famous St. Leo Fair this year! It was a great way to celebrate the end of summer. Be sure to check it out next year at the St. Leo Parish at 24 Roxbury Rd, Stamford, CT 06902. Thank you to all those who helped with this year's fair and to all the staff and officers for keeping it safe and fun for everyone!

Enjoy your Labor Day Weekend and God Bless! - Natasha M.
