Live Music Photography: Spotlight on Stargroves

You might've seen me post some shots from my live performance photography of the Stargroves when they performed in Weston, CT. This talented group of musicians from NYC are excellent live! It's so much fun capturing their facial expressions when playing, close-ups of the instruments and the captive audience when photographing live music. I was inspired to feature them on my blog after watching their latest music video on YouTube which is a cover of Sigur Rós - Track 4 (Njósnavélin). You can watch their cover video below:

The Stargroves were founded by lead singer, Teddy Watson who also plays guitar and banjo. Their overall sound is eclectic and inspired by Freelance Whales, Stars, and Sigur Rós. Teddy is accompanied by four core band members: Bryan Percivall (bass guitar, supporting vocals), Charlie Rauh (lead guitar, supporting vocals), Max Maples (drums), and Brad Whiteley (synth, keyboard).  Visit their website for more information and take a listen to their recent single "Westfjords" feat. Abigail Breslin.
