First Holy Communion Party Photography

On Saturday, May 17th, 2014, I photographed Meghan's First Holy Communion Party at the Orange County Arboretum in Montgomery, New York. It was such a beautiful day and a perfect setting for a party with Meghan's family and close friends.

I used the Nikon D800e and the 24-70mm f/2.8 for most of the day then switched to the 14-24mm f/2.8 to get wide angle shots of the whole room during the luncheon.

Once I arrived at the location, I scouted for the best location for family portraits with immediate family. The party started around 3pm and the sunlight was pretty harsh so we took many shots under this beautiful trellis with greenery and natural vines. I loved how the wood framed many of the shots as you can see in the select photos below. I can't wait to see some of these photos printed. I'm sure the colors will pop! I'm so grateful to be able to shoot at breathtaking locations with a picture-perfect family.
